I received my first traffic violation of my adult life the last week of February. I misjudged time and distance when the yellow light blinked on. This happened at 7:50 a.m. where Route 302 and Berlin Street separate. If the camera was how I got ticketed I wouldn’t be upset.

The officer who came and got me made me wonder, was it the end of the month and the city needed money and camera needed backup? No danger was ever present as no traffic (if there was any) had time to move. Given my age (56) I was most put off by being asked if I was active-duty military and not if I might be a Vietnam-era vet with a spotless driving/accident record. The 5 p.m. pedestrian crossing at Route 14 and 302 is much more dangerous and a lot more money could be made there with little effort. No right turn violations.

My only help for others would be for all of you to enlist/re-enlist to catch a break in Montpelier.
